Generally speaking, the illumination requirement for Golf court in the horizontal direction is 200 ~ 250Lux, within 200 yards and within in 5 meters height, of the vertical illumination requirement is 80 ~ 120Lux. At present, there are 4 kinds of design for golf field lighting: Pole lighting design behind the main court area; practice area on both sides of the court lighting, Floor lighting design and roof mounted lighting design. Their design principles and advantages and disadvantages are as follows:
1.Tee area or pole lighting design on both sides of the golf court

Golf course LED lamp installation height is recommended to be more than 15 meters, to ensure that there is enough illumination to track the ball's flight in a vertical version. The spacing should not exceed twice the height of lamp pole
Advantages: the highest efficiency of equipment, simple installation.
Disadvantages: serious glare and spill lighting.
2.Practice court Lighting design on both sides of the golf court.
The tee area roof mounted lighting design, combined with the lighting on both sides of the golf court , LED lights can be arranged on both sides of the golf course or install LED golf course lights on purse seine.
Advantages: the overall lighting effect is the best, there are enough illumination on both the horizontal and vertical direction, and glare and spill lighting is very small. If combined with the structure of the fence can save costs effectively.
Disadvantages: high equipment costs, installation and maintenance costs are more expensive.
3.Lighting on both sides of the golf court combined with the floor light illumination design
When use the floor light for illuminating, it should combined with the lighting on both sides of the golf court. So that golf practice area has a best vertical illumination over the court.
Advantage: the best vertical illumination over the court.
Disadvantages: if the ball fly higher than floor lights will lost its track in the sky, and poor horizontal illumination, not cost effective.
4.Roof lighting design on the Tee area
The most simple design is to install LED lights on the tee area roof, the LED lighting mount height should higher than 8 meters. If the installation height of the LED court light is too low, the ball’s flying height exceeds the lighting area, and the ball’s flight will be lost at high altitude, and the horizontal illumination of the front and rear regions will vary greatly.
Advantages: the lowest cost, but the installation and maintenance costs higher.
Disadvantages: serious glare and spill lighting.
